The East Midlands is a region of fast-growing towns and cities where new housing and steady home improvement keep trades busy — and where being easy to find online is increasingly how the work gets won.
The East Midlands centres on three cities close together — Nottingham, Leicester and Derby — surrounded by a spread of substantial towns: Northampton, Lincoln, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Loughborough, Kettering, Corby and Grantham, plus the county markets across Rutland and rural Lincolnshire. It’s a region that’s grown quickly, with a lot of new-build development and expanding commuter towns — which means a steady stream of home improvement, extensions, driveways and the full range of domestic trade work.
Competition in the cities is real but not as saturated as the biggest UK metros, which makes it a region where a trade with a genuinely good online presence can climb and stand out relatively quickly. A lot of local trades here still have weak or no websites, so the bar to look like the most professional option in your town is lower than you’d think — and the reward for clearing it is real.
In growing towns full of newcomers who don’t yet have a “usual” tradesperson, Google is where they find one. A site that ranks for your trade in Nottingham, Leicester, Derby or your local town, and that looks the part, puts you in front of exactly those customers. And with so many local trades under-invested online, showing up properly is a fast route to standing out.
Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland — you’re covered. And anywhere else in the UK too; this is just one of the regions I work across.
